La Campaña de Registro Cívico es una importante iniciativa nacional palestina lanzada en 2010.
Su propósito era crear un mecanismo para registrar a los palestinos de todo el mundo para votar por el Consejo Nacional Palestino (PNC), el órgano legislativo supremo de la Organización para la Liberación de Palestina (OLP). El resultado fue un mecanismo de registro de votantes en línea, completado en 2013, que cumplió con los estándares internacionales de seguridad, transferencia y almacenamiento de datos, y se adhirió a las mejores prácticas en los procedimientos de votación fuera del país.
Cómo funciona el registro
El registro de votantes es una parte necesaria de cualquier proceso democrático e implica obtener información de los votantes individuales para colocar sus nombres en un registro de votantes, lo que demuestra su elegibilidad para participar en las elecciones. The Civitas Project
Between 2003 and 2006, a civic needs assessment was conducted amongst Palestinian communities in more than X number of countries. Amongst the many outcomes of the campaign was a clear demand from Palestinian exiled and refugee communities for elections to the Palestine National Council.
